Resignation of Metropolitan / The Metropolitan of Floris submitted his resignation, Prespa and Eordaia etc. Theoclitus, which was accepted by the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece, which expressed its satisfaction and thanks for what the old Hierarchs offered in favor of the Church of Christ.
His Eminence Theoklitos will remain in his position until the end of September, with the election of a new Metropolitan estimated to take place in early October.
Born in 1932 in Kyparissi, Grevena Prefecture, where he finished Primary School and then Grevena High School. He graduated from the Theological School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 1957.
He served his military service as a theologian in the Army Religious Service, where he gave sermons of ethno-religious content to military units. Then he worked in the missionary brotherhood "Stavros".
The 1967 he became a monk at the Holy Monastery of the Dormition of the Virgin Kladorrachis Florini and was ordained a deacon the same year.
The 1968 he was ordained Elder under Metropolitan Florinis, Augustinou Kantiotis of Prespa and Eordaia and received the office of Archimandrite.[2]He served for thirty-two years as Protossygel of the Holy Metropolis and Preacher in the province and on the radio.
He was a columnist in magazines and a speaker at priestly conferences of the Metropolis.[3]He was elected Metropolitan of the Holy Metropolis of Florina, Prespa and Eordia at 21 January 2000 and was ordained on 23 January 2000 in the Holy Church of Agios Dionysios of Areopagitou in Athens.
In August 2023 submitted his resignation to the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece, which was accepted at its meeting on 24-25 August 2023.
