The Eminence. Dorotheos II went this morning to Folegandros and, if his arrival, performed the first for this year's Great Lenten Holy Mass of the Consecrated Holy Gifts at the Holy Metropolitan Church of Agios Nikolaos Chora, with the liturgical participation of the Priest of the Church and the prayerful presence of Rev. Protopr. Konst. Papadopoulos, of all the students and teachers of every educational level of the island, of Mayor Folegandros Mrs. Eth. Papadopoulou, Municipal Councilors and many Folegandrian faithful.
Preach the divine word, His Eminence Mr.. Dorotheos II spoke about the role of Holy and Great Lent in the spiritual improvement of believers, in the importance of physical and spiritual fasting and mutual forgiveness, while he referred to the miraculous operations of the Virgin, thanks to which Folegandros was saved from suffering and in memory of which the Virgin is honored on the island as “Martial woman” and as “Yeast woman”.
He warmly thanked the Teachers and especially the Students for their orderly and enthusiastic participation in the Holy Mass, to whom he addressed paternal admonitions, distributed educational materials and, to small children, games, and wished everyone for Holy and Great Lent.
