In the restless and cheerful light of the Easter season, there where the triumph of Life over death is the foundation of Orthodox life, Mykonos it happened on friday, 17 April 2026, the focus of a deeply absorbing Eucharistic gathering. The historic Holy Metropolitan Church of Zoodochos Pigi in Chora - the famous "Great Virgin" (year of establishment 1616), as the Mykonians call her with traditional respect—celebrated his patroness with unparalleled ecclesiastical splendor.
This year, the holiday of Zoodochos Pigi (Theotokos of the Life-giving Spring) took on historic proportions, as the liturgical honor to the face of the Most Holy Theotokos was masterfully interwoven with the sacerdotal worship of the holy relic of the Holy Glorious Great Martyr George the Trophy Bearer, making the Divine Liturgy one true fact of functional intoxication.
Liturgy and Sanctification: The Pneumatic Bridge of Trikala – Mykonos
The Solemn Divine Liturgy was solemnly presided over by the Most Reverend Protopresbyter p. Alexandros Angelopoulos. It was he who, receiving the blessed embrace of mainland Greece in the Aegean, provided the fragment of the holy relic of Tropaiophoros from the Parish of Pialia Trikala, for the sanctification and support of the friendly people of Mykonos.

In the holy Altar, in a standard collector, τον π. Alexander was assisted by worthy priests of the local vineyard: the Most Reverend Protopresbyter Fr. Petros Maragos, High Priest Commissioner of Mykonos and Delos, and the reverend Deacon George Stalimeros, ministering the Sacrament with exemplary ecclesiastical order.
Eucharistic discourse: "To the only daughter of Delos"
During the sermon time, the reason of the High Priest of the Temple, Pi. Petrou Marangou, there was concise, theological and emotional. May the grace of the Mother of God and the mighty protection of the Trophy Bearer always think of the philanthropic people.
