The Feast of the Transfiguration of the Savior in I.M.N was celebrated with due ecclesiastical splendor. Great Panagia , in Mykonos Town.
The Orthros Service and the Divine Liturgy were performed by the Most Reverend Protopresbyter and High Priest of the Temple, Pi. Petros Maragos, flanked by the Protopresbyter Fr. Georgios Kousathanas with the participation of Mykonians and vacationers, who came reverently to celebrate the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord.
“I want to show the Disciples, strength from on high and wisdom from the Father, in a mountain you rose, Christ of Taborius, and you shone as a Despot enlightening them”.

“Transfigured in the mountain Christ the God, show your Disciples your glory, as possible. Let us sinners shine, let your light shine, embassies of the Virgin, glory to you, giver of light”.
During the narration of the Evangelists, our Lord Jesus Christ took Peter from the disciples , John and James and went up to Mount Tabor to pray. As Saint Nicodemus the Saint notes: "And he received only three Apostles, as pre-eminent and pre-eminent. However, Petros qualified, because I loved Christ much. Two men were surrounding Him and talking with Him, Moses (see 4 September) and Ilias (see 20 July). Saint Nicodemus the Saint writes characteristically: "And he brought Moses and Ilian into their midst, to correct false suspicions, where there were many about it. Although, others said the Lord, how is Elias. Others don't, how is Ieremias. For this reason, he represented the first and foremost Prophets in Tabor, for the students to know, and through the disciples all people, what a difference there is between Christ, and the Prophets. But Christ, he is a Despot. The Prophets, they are slaves. And let them learn, that the Lord has the power of death and life. Wherefore, from the deceased, brought Moses. And from the living, brought Ilian".
After the students had somewhat recovered from their surprise, the ever enthusiastic, Peter, wanting to preserve this holy intoxication caused by the radiance of the Lord, imploringly he told them to set up three tents. One for the Lord, one for Moses and one for Elijah. Before he could, Nevertheless, to finish his sentence, came a cloud that covered them and from’ this was heard a voice saying: "THE?of ?f?n ? u?my ? ?sweetheart? a?the? ?are you listening" (Luke, i’ 28-36). That is, This is my beloved Son, that I sent him to save the world. Listen to him.
We have to, Well, and we not only listen to Him, but also to obey Him. On whatever path it takes us, we are bound to discipline ourselves.
