Το βράδυ τελέσθηκε η τελετή του Νιπτήρος, που είναι και ο Όρθρος της Μεγάλης Πέμπτης που αναφέρεται στο Μυστικό Δείπνο και ψάλλεται το Κοντάκιο "when the glorious disciples".

Το κορυφαίο γεγονός είναι η τελετή του νιπτήρα. “Ταπεινούμενος δι’ ευσπλαχνίαν, πόδας ένιψας των μαθητών σου, και προς δρόμον θείον τούτους κατεύθυνας”.
