The faithful flooded the Holy Chapel in order to worship the Holy Cross and draw heavenly power and grace from it.
In his Divine Sermon, Protopresbyter Fr. Petros Maragos mentioned the importance of the Holy Cross in the life of Christians….
After the Ascension ceremony, an emotional moment for everyone,the Faithful took with them Holy Water and sprigs of basil as a blessing and to deposit them on the icons as an elixir against evil.
After the end of the service, the faithful distribute the Antidoro and the Consecrated Bread .…
After dismissal, a festive treat was offered to the faithful with drinks and local traditional sweets ……
This was followed by a fasting Mykonian feast with rich dishes, plenty of wine and traditional music until the evening p’ the entire congregation from the family of Spyros and Flora Xydakis.
