In a moving but also exciting Resurrection Climate, Protopresbyter Vasilios Tzanidakis handed over the Holy Light to the Mayor to the representatives of the Authorities as well as to dozens of believers who attended the Airport.
The custom of transporting the Holy Light by plane from Jerusalem to Athens began in 1988 on the initiative of a travel agency. This particular travel agency continued to bring the Holy Light to Athens every year, up to and including 2002. Since then this custom was undertaken to continue by the sub. Foreign, which from the 2003 to this day it carries the Holy Light.
