The embassies of the Holy Fathers, God, have mercy on us
On the Sunday after the eleventh of October, we commemorate the Holy Fathers of the holy and Ecumenical Seventh Synod.
The Z' Ecumenical Synod was celebrated with due splendor, at the Holy Monastery of Panagia Tourliani, in Ano Mera of Mykonos.
On Sunday 15 October 2023, Orthros was performed and then the Divine Liturgy, of the pre-eminence of the Theophilest Bishop Androusis, Mr. Constantiou, flanked by the Monastic Professor of Panology, Archimandrite Alexios Papadopoulos and the co-praying presence of the Mykonian faithful, pious vacationers, current and elected Municipal Councilors and the President of the Fraternity of Mykonos Unmerited Franceskas Kounanis.
The Seventh Ecumenical Council convened in Nicaea, Bithynia from 24 September to 13 October 787 A.D., at the initiative of Empress Irene, the one who was acting as regent. Three hundred and fifty Orthodox bishops gathered under the presidency of the Patriarch of Constantinople Agios Tarasios, and to them were added seventeen other prelates, those who renounced the heresy of the iconoclasts.
