Easter Sunday Vespers of Agape
“Μή εκθαμβείσθε … Ηγέρθη ούκ έστιν ώδε”
“Νυν Πάντα Πεπλήρωται Φωτός, Ουρανός τε και Γη και τα Καταχθόνια”
“Συγχωρήσωμεν πάντα τη Αναστάσει”
With the appropriate solemnity of the day and in a climate of Resurrection joy it was performed, On Easter Sunday 16 April 2023, the Great Vespers of Love, the Holy Cathedral of the Holy Virgin, priest of the High Priest of the Temple and High Priestly Commissioner of Delos and Mykonos, of February. Petrou Marangou, co-ministers of the vicar of the Holy Church of Panachrantos and High Priestly Commissioner of Ano Mera and Palaiokastro Archpriest Vassiliou Tzanidakis, of the vicar of the Holy Church of Agia Kyriaki Protoprebytrio Fr. Emmanuel Galanaki, and of the Hierodeacon of the Church of Georgios Stalimeros.
The solemn Vespers service began at 11 am, presence of faithful followers, of Municipal Councilors Antonis Kousathanas, Spyros Apostolos and the Commander of the 6th MSEP Gini Nikolaou, of the Vice Minister of Culture Stelios Brygos under the joyous sounds of the resurrection chant of the Priests and the cantor of the Metropolitan Church.

During the brilliant Sequence of the Great Vespers of Love, the Holy Gospel of the Resurrection according to John was read (.Ω. chap. κ´ 19-25), as defined by the Standard of the Sequence of the day. in three stops, in Greek and French, thus giving the mark of the unity of all peoples and spreading worldwide the era of Resurrection hope.

On Easter Sunday, the Church leaves behind pain, the sadness of the Passion and the Crucifixion and proclaims the joy and hope that the Resurrection brings.
The dance of the Priests of Mykonos sings the verses of Easter:
"Resurrection Day, brighten up peoples, Easter of the Lord, Easter from death to life, and from earth to heaven, Christ is God, we were sent, unprofitable".
“Αναστήτω ο Θεός, and his enemies were scattered, και φυγέτωσαν από προσώπου αυτού οι μισούντες αυτόν”.
“Ως εκλείπει καπνός εκλιπέτωσαν, as wax melts in the face of fire.
“Ούτως απολούνται οι αμαρτωλοί από προσώπου του Θεού και οι δίκαιοι ευφρανθήτωσαν”.
“Αύτη η ημέρα, the Lord made it, let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Vespers is also called "Love", because Christ was crucified and resurrected for the love of men. So that man can form a redemptive relationship of communion with God. For man to gain a prospect of salvation, a perspective founded on the imperishable, unconditional and boundless love of God for man.
