Great & Holy Friday -Epitaphios Threnos,Lamentations (Procession Outside of the Epitaphios) in Mykonos / Amidst a climate of mourning and widespread mourning, on the afternoon of Good Friday, the Othros of Great Saturday was celebrated with the Sequence of the Epitaph and the Eulogies, by the High Priest Commissioner of Delos and Mykonos, in the afternoon at the Holy Monastery of Paleokastro Ano Mera Mykonos. Petro Marago, flanked by the pious Deacon George and the cantors, to the crowd of believers, in the brilliantly decorated Holy Metropolitan Church of Megali Panagia, in Chora Mykonos Mykonos.
The hymn of Holy Saturday is sung and the hymnology is related to the burial of the Lord by Joseph and Nicodemus and the descent of His soul into the dark realms of Hades.
The crowded choir of the temple, under the direction and guidance of the Deputy Regional Governor for Culture, Mr. Stelios Brigos, it imparted a special immersive atmosphere and drew the praises of the faithful.
During the sequence they are chanted in three stanzas (parts) the so-called Praises, little tropes very dear to the people, unknown poet. These praises are sung on Good Friday night, but they belong to the article of Great Saturday. The most famous are "Life in the grave", "All generations" and "My sweet heart".

They attended the Mayor of Mykonos Constantine Koukas, the Deputy Mayor Miltiadis Atzamoglou, the Commander of the 6th MSEP Kipenis Nikolaos, the Harbor Master of Mykonos Ktenas Michael, Officers of L.S, the deputy commander of the Sub-Division of Police, the president of the Municipal Council Giorgos Rousounelos, the Municipal Councilors Franceskos Vigliaris, Antonis Kousathanas, Spyros Apostolou, representatives of the island's Agencies and a large number of Mykonians and visitors to the island.
The Epitaph Procession followed, in the picturesque streets of Chora. In the presence of the Mayor, of the Deputy Mayor, Municipal Councillors, of the Commanders of the Security Forces and dozens of young people who ministered at the Agios Vima, Prof.’ throughout Holy Week.
It caused a stir when the Harbor Master and the Officers, lifted on their shoulders the sacred and eternal canopy of the Epitaph, (1750) which was donated to our Metropolitan Church, when the ruler of the island was Dimitrakis Mavrogenis, grandfather of the Heroine Mantos,

After the return of the Epitaph to the Metropolitan Church, a passage from the Gospel of Matthew was read (kz' 62-66): Chief priests and Pharisees go to Pontius Pilate and ask him to seal the tomb, because they remember that the Lord in an abomination of his words had said that in three days he would rise again. Pilate gives them permission.
