The Reading of the 12 Gospels and Procession of the Crucified Christ / With reverence and devotion on Maundy Thursday, 13 April 2023, the Mass of the Holy and Immaculate Passions was held in the Holy Metropolitan Church of the Great Virgin Mary, in Mykonos Town.

On Holy Thursday they are revived in our Church, the events of the last day of the life of Jesus Christ on Earth. With the crucifixion of Christ the Divine drama culminates, where four important events are honored. The washing of the feet of the Apostles by the Lord,The Secret Dinner, the prayer of the Lord in the Garden of Gethsemane and the betrayal of the Lord by Judas.
During Maundy Thursday in the service the 12 gospels, the Holy Passions which describe the genealogical tree of Jesus, predict his coming, record the Holy Passions and the glorious Resurrection.
Through the words of the Gospels but also from the particularly mournful notes of the troparions, the mockeries are described in the most tragic way., the blows, the insults and mockery of the people who raised the Lord to the cross. Holy Thursday is one of the saddest days of Christianity.
