Mystery of the Holy Gospel – Holy Thursday Matins / With reverence and solemnity of the Great Wednesday afternoon, 20 April 2022, the Masses of Euchelaion and the Holy Washbasin were performed – Sequence of the Last Supper [Orthro of Maundy Thursday] ] in the Holy Metropolitan Church of Megali, in Mykonos Town.
The constitution of the echelon, as well as the rest of the mysteries, it goes back to the New Testament and even the Catholic Epistle of James: (chapter e´, lyrics 14 -15).

During the performance of the Great Wish, the Reverend Fr. Petros Maragos read the seven Gospels and the forgiveness wish, accompanied by the Chanters of the Monastery, anointed and "crucified" with the consecrated oil of the Eucalyptus the numerous believers who participated in the Mystery.
Euchelion oil is considered therapeutic. During the sacrament the priest lights a candle for each Gospel he reads. This is also what some believers do during the Great Lent, at the church, on Holy Wednesday.

Matins of Great and Holy Thursday [The Lord’s Last Supper]
Then with particular delight the presence of a crowd of believers, both in the 1st Sequence hour 6.00 Unprovoked, as well as in the 2nd Sequence hour 7.30 the evening, the Mass of Holy Thursday was held on Holy Wednesday, during which we celebrate the holy Washbasin, the mystical Supper, the supernatural Prayer, and Betrayal and the Kontakion is sung "when the glorious disciples".
On the holy and great Thursday, the holy Fathers who order everything well in succession from the holy Apostles and the holy Gospels, they handed over to us what they were celebrating, the holy Niptiras, the Mystical Supper (that is, the tradition of the Mysteries, which are horrible to us), the supernatural prayer, and Betrayal.
"Then the glorious disciples in the basin of the supper were enlightened, then Judas the impious, greedy sick, be blinded; and unequal judges shall be delivered up to the just judge. It is about capturing the image of Jesus, who though he rules earth and heaven, washes His disciples' feet before supper. At that time it was customary for the host's servants to wash the guests' feet, before they sit down at the table to eat, when it came to a formal dinner. But here the Lord takes over this ministry, explaining to them that: “the elder among you is born as the younger and the abbot as the deacon”.
The Holy Mass was attended by the Mayor of Mykonos Konstantinos Koukas and the Deputy Mayor Miltiadis Atzamoglou.
