Church of Mykonos / Circumcision of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
In the homonymous Holy and centuries-old Chapel of Agios Basilios the Great, Archbishop of Caesarea of Cappadocia,, at “Kuseyares”, in the area of the lake in Mykonos Town, a festive vespers was held with Artoklasias.
With pride and dignity, in the presence of Municipal Councilors, K. Eleni Kontiza, K. Francesco Vigliaris, K. Antonis Kousathanas and with the participation of a large number of believers and small singers, on Saturday afternoon 31 December 2022, the Vespers of the Circumcision of our Lord Jesus Christ was celebrated by His Eminence p. Petros Maragos flanked by Fr. George Kousathanas and Deacon George.
During the short solemn speech His Holiness addressed the congregation, referred to the Despotic feast of the circumcision of our Lord, which states that our Christ was a perfect God as well as a perfect man. As well as in the life of the Great Hierarch and Cappadocian Father.
After the end of the evening service, the faithful lit their lanterns and candles from the dormant candle of the Saint to litanize the icon, at the Holy Metropolitan Church of Megali Panagia for tomorrow's solemn New Year's Divine Liturgy, singing carols, with the melodious accompaniment of the joyful ringing of bells!
