Με την δέουσα εκκλησιαστική τάξη και μεγαλοπρέπεια τιμήθηκε η εορτή της Γεννήσεως του Χριστού στους ναούς και τις ιερές μονές της Ιεράς Μητροπόλεως Μεσσηνίας. Επίκεντρο του εορτασμού ο Ιερός Μητροπολιτικός Ναός της Υπαπαντής του Χριστού Καλαμάτας, όπου χοροστάτησε στον Όρθρο και προέστη της Θείας Λειτουργίας ο Σεβ. Μητροπολίτης Μεσσηνίας κ. Χρυσόστομος πλαισιωμένος από τους Πρωτοπρεσβυτέρους ΚρεσφόντηΠουλόπουλο και Σωτήριο Τζαϊλέα και τους Διακόνους Θεόφιλο Κυριάκο και Ηλία Διαμαντόπουλο. Before the end of the Divine Liturgy, His Holiness referred to the message of the Christmas holiday (see. related. video), emphasizing characteristically how "Christmas is not an ideology" and that we should not sacrifice our faith and traditions on the altar of a "so-called religious freedom" which, however, limits the boundaries of the religious freedom of Christians only.
