Excerpts from an autobiographical interview of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and messages from personalities with whom he has collaborated, such as that of Pope Francis, of former US Vice President Al Gore and UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, compose the documentary “Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew. Thirty years of ministry ", to be screened at the first world premiere, on Saturday 18 December 2021, at the Olympion cinema.
The screening of the documentary, held with the support of the Thessaloniki Film Festival, is part of a series of honorary events in order to highlight the diverse work of the Ecumenical Patriarch, on the occasion of the completion of thirty years of his ministry, as well as the role of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in the modern world. It is carried out by the Theological School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the Patriarchal Foundation for Patriarchal Studies in collaboration with YMATH, the Region of Central Macedonia, the Municipality of Thessaloniki, the Society for Macedonian Studies and the Philoptocho Men's Brotherhood of Thessaloniki.
The documentary was an idea of Fr. Ioannis Chrysaugis, Archdeacon of the Ecumenical Throne, who edited it together with the curator of the Patriarchal Foundation for Patriarchal Studies, Byzantine scholar Flora Karagianni.

"We chose to screen it at the Olympion in collaboration with the Thessaloniki Film Festival and its artistic director Orestis Andreadakis, because we considered it the most suitable place, who can highlight all the dimensions of this effort ", notes Mr.. Stamoulis.
The documentary, realized with the sponsorship of the "Brotherhood of Officials of the Holy Church of Christ: Panagia Pammakaristos », after Thessaloniki he will travel to many destinations, such as Istanbul, America and Australia.
Directed and edited by George Botsos, the production and photography director Christos Kapriniotis and the screenwriter Ioanna Skatzeli. Narrated by Thanasis Vikopoulos, The archive research was done by Eftychia Georgaka and the original music is signed by Sakis Ambatzidis. Vassilis Zigeridis plays canon and Adriana Achitzanova Petala plays new.
