On the hill of Karyes, above the spa town of Thermi on Lesvos, are the Holy Relics and the Holy Monastery of the Holy and New Martyrs Raphael, Nikolaou and Irini.

The Saints Raphael, Nicholas and Irene were tortured and brutally killed by the Turks, almost immediately after the fall of Constantinople. Their martyrdom happened on the Tuesday of Diakainisimos, Easter Tuesday, at 9 April of the year 1463 A.D.

From an excavation that took place in Thermi of Lesvos, the 1959 A.D., the tomb of an unknown person was discovered, where, as revealed in the constant visions and dreams of the inhabitants of the area, belonged to Saint Raphael.

The father of Agia Irini martyred with the Saints, Basil, his wife Maria, their only five-year-old child Raphael, their niece Eleni, the teacher Theodoros and the doctor Alexandros, whose bones were found near the tombs of the Saints, inside separate tombs.

After the end of the Divine Liturgy followed a festive treat.
