Yesterday, the Archbishop of America Elpidoforos met with the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, who informed him of various matters of his great Province, such as the completion of the work of the Holy Temple of St. Nicholas at Point Zero -national pilgrimage of the United States of America-, the preservation of the academic and educational identity of the Hellenic College and the Theological School of the Holy Cross, in Boston, and related issues with the Clergy Pension Fund in the Archdiocese of America……….
His Holiness congratulated Archbishop Elpidoforos on the happy outcome of the adventure of the Hellenic College and the Theological School of the Holy Cross, and even expressed his emotion for the reaffirmation, by the Committee on Higher Education in the States of New England, the full academic recognition of the two institutions.
The Archbishop of America arrived in Istanbul last Sunday to attend the enthronement of the newly elected Metropolitan Elder Chalcedon Emmanuel, set for Saturday 20 March at the Holy Trinity Cathedral, in Chalcedon, and to take part in the Divine Liturgy for the celebration of Orthodox Sunday.

The events of that day and the painful loss of life, along with the few remains of those who lost their lives, attribute another purpose to the sacred temple. The holy temple, emphasizes, is a refuge of remembrance and a place of sacred pilgrimage and this is a great responsibility for the Greek Orthodox community ".
