1. To lift the travel bans that had been imposed on 13 Countries, with a predominantly Muslim population.
It is recalled that the Ecumenical Patriarchate, for several decades, has launched a formal academic dialogue with Islam and has so far 15 joint conferences, in which issues of concern to all mankind were discussed and which aim at the better acquaintance and mutual respect of the two monotheistic religions, as well as in consolidating peace and solidarity in the world.
In the context of this interfaith dialogue, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, in 30 years of his patriarchy, has officially visited many Muslim countries, such as e.g.. Iran, Bahrain, Qatar, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Libya, Egypt, Morocco etc.. and has developed friendly relations and stable communication with religious leaders of Islam and with personalities of the academic field.
Simultaneously, has convened summits with representatives of the three monotheistic religions in the City, in Brussels etc.. Is, after all, the Bosphorus Declarations are internationally known (1994, 2005) and Brussels (2001).
