In a commendable effort, the General Secretariat of Religious Affairs of the Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Church of Greece and the Special Committee for Cultural Identity conduct, for the second year in a row Panhellenic student competition for the 200 years since the revolution of 1821……
Purpose of the competition, which is established in the minds of students and teachers, is to invite students on a journey of historical study, search and research that will simultaneously stimulate the imaginative powers, their imagination and creativity to study the life and contribution of four important personalities of the revolutionary times. The deadline for participation ends on 17 Of January 2020.
The competition concerns female and male students of the 3rd High School, who individually or in groups of up to three people under the supervision of a teacher will have to create an original video about one of four important revolutionary figures, Ioannis Makrygiannis, Domna Vizvizi, the National Martyr Bishop of Rogon Iosif and Theodoros Kolokotronis.
A special committee will evaluate the students' creations. The students with distinguished entries will participate in an educational program that will include an excursion to Kalavryta, one of the landmarks of the revolution, while they will be awarded in a special ceremony at the Ministry of Education.
