In the holy chapel of Agios Anthony the Great and Professor of the Desert, in the area of Mylon we celebrated Saturday today 17 January the Divine Liturgy……
In our short sermon we referred to the life of the Saint who was born on 251 A.D. in Upper Egypt of wealthy and virtuous parents, but whom he lost at a young age. Then he abandons the worldly and departs for the desert, after first settling his younger sister and distributing the great paternal property to the poor of his region.
In the desert he trained his soul and tamed his passions reaching the highest limits of practice and becoming the model of ascetics. Many of them came to the desert to hear him and consult him. He surrendered his blessed soul to age 105 years. May we have His wish.
