With religious reverence and rejoicing, the Solemn Vespers was celebrated tonight, μετ΄Αρτοκλασίας, for the feast of the patron saint of the Hellenic Police, Saint Glorious Great Martyr Artemios, in the homonymous and flower-adorned Holy Church in Niochori, of the traditional settlement of Mykonos.
At Vespers, he was prominent, originally from Mykonos, His Holiness Archimandrite Athanasios Spongaros of the Holy Metropolis of Ierissou, flanked by the High Priestly Commissioner of Mykonos and Delos and High Priest of the Temple, Most Reverend Propriest Petros Maragos and the vicar Most Reverend Propriest Georgios Kousathanas!
They appeared praying at the Holy Mass, the Deputy Minister of Sports Mr. John Broutsis, Mykonos Mayor Christos Veronis, the Deputy Governor of Culture Stelios Brygos, the Deputy Mayors Marousoula Haniotis, Dimitris Koutsoukos, Municipal Councilors Maria Daktylidis and Dimitris Lazaridis, the Director of the Regional Administration N. Aegean, the Director of the Mykonos Police Department, the Harbor Master of the island and the Director of the 6th MSEP.
Despite the rain the Holy Church, and his yard, overwhelmed by a crowd of people, so that they worship the miraculous Icon, the repressor of the honest vows and the fragment of the Holy Relic of St., which was offered to our Church by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Syros and Mykonos Dorotheos II 2011, and to co-celebrate the Holy Great Martyr Artemios.
Tomorrow morning 20 October, a High Priestly Divine Liturgy will be held, priest of the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Syros and Mykonos, Mr. Dorotheus II and after that will lead the litany of the Holy Icon with the accompaniment of the P Philharmonic. Ι. Ι. Evangelistria of Tinos, who will therefore arrive in Mykonos to celebrate the religious events!
