A large crowd of Mykonian believers flooded the Holy Church of Saint Gerasimos and its courtyard tonight in Chora of Mykonos, where the Honorable Mr. Dorotheos B’ celebrated Holy Vespers, with the participation of the Church Priest, Archpriest Emmanuel Galanakis, of the Parish of the Holy Church of Panachrantos, Archpriest Vassiliou Tzanidakis and the Deacons, and with the prayerful presence of the Deputy Minister of Sports Yannis Vroutsis, of Cyclades Parliamentarian Katerina Monogyou, of Mayor Christos Veronis, of the acting Mayor Athanasios Kousathanas – Mega, of Deputy Mayor Marousoula Haniotis, of Municipal Councilors Maria Daktylides, and Dimitris Lazaridis, of the Director of the Regional Administration of N. Aegean, of the Director of the Mykonos Police Department, of Limenarchis, of the Director of the 6th MSEP,and Scout group.

The Eminence. Dorotheos B’ in his speech he referred to the life of Saint Gerasimos, focusing his speech on the fact that the Blessed, even though he lived in an underground cave, which could barely fit him, yet he felt free, because he made good use of his freedom, and especially the internal one, as a result of which he became a citizen of Heaven and is honored today by the Orthodox world.
He emphasized that his ascetic ethos teaches us simplicity, peace and self-sacrificing love for fellow man.
Finally, he wished the celebrants, who are many in Mykonos, since Osios is particularly honored by the Mykonians.
