Στην κατανυκτική και πένθιμη ταυτόχρονα αυτή ακολουθία, αναγινώσκονται τα Ευαγγέλια τής Σταύρωσης και Αποκαθήλωσης τού Χριστού και καθώς ψάλλονται τα απόστιχα τού Εσπερινού γίνεται η μεταφορά τού Επιταφίου από τους ιερείς, από το Ιερό Βήμα στο προευτρεπισμένο Κουβούκλιο.
Πολλοί πιστοί, ανάμεσα σ’ αυτούς και ο Δήμαρχος Μυκόνου,Χρήστος Βερώνη και Δημοτικοί Σύμβουλοι, παρακολούθησαν προσευχόμενοι την Ιερά αυτή Ακολουθία, αυτή την ημέρα, που αποτελεί την κατ’ εξοχήν ημέρα πένθους για τους Ορθοδόξους Χριστιανούς, κατά την οποία δεν τελείται η Θεία Λειτουργία.
