Panosioliotatos Alexios: In memory of Ekaterini Episcopatoris

"Women find men; This one is more precious than precious stones…the mouth does not open wisely and lawfully, and her alms raised her children and they became rich…» (Prov. 29,10.28)

Only a few days have passed since the third Sunday of Easter, where our Holy Church dedicated it to the figures of the Saint Myroforos.

but also a confirmation of His exact ecclesiology, in the faces of these students, finds an answer to the question of the author of the Proverbs of the Old Testament.

Simple and humble women. Loyal schoolgirls, where always discreetly from a distance, they followed the Master.

Nevertheless, they did not lack courage. For the virtue of valor is not identical with physique and strength, but with mental courage.

These women, drawing strength from love for the face of their Master, they do not cower before the darkness of the deep womb and do not despair at the idea of the oversized stone that blocked the entrance to the Tomb.

This constitutes valor. A love that overcomes fear. A love that overcomes the weakness of female nature, and makes it more brilliant than all precious stones.

Blessed Mother Bishop Ekaterini was also a brave woman.

Maybe not, not by chance, God, he called her to repay the common and inevitable debt of human nature, the week in which the Church celebrated these Holy Myrobearers.

The virtues that adorned her, of morality and honesty, they are pre-eminent components of valor.

Noble and presentable, he became dear to all. Always discreet, she never suggested her status as the mother of a Bishop.

There was the eucalyptus tree, which she rested suffering, from the heat of sorrows, souls of men, offering them comforting cooling.

She was a loving mother and faithful wife. Maybe not, again the words of the writer of Proverbs apply, as her words always contained wisdom, while her almsgiving was the first and greatest wealth she left as a bequest to her children.

He lovingly dedicated a Bishop to the Church, and thus became a spiritual teacher for all of us.

The human sadness of separation, which still keeps our eyes heavy, cannot overshadow the gratitude we all feel for her honest face.

To the noblewoman Ekaterini, we all owe him a debt of gratitude, because he delivered to the Church a God-given Bishop and to all of us a loving Father.

The blessed Bishop Ekaterini "God's pleasing deed, I was loved and lived among sinners, postponed".

CHRIST IS RISEN!
